The Llama Farm :-)

My Uncle Kent was nice enough to let Carter's preschool class come to his home. He has a whole family of alpacas and one llama. The teachers were trying to prepare the kids for what kind of animals they were going to see. It was really funny trying to explain to a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds what a llama and an emu are.

The kids were a little scared at first but that soon changed to fascination. They got to feed them and pet them and, as soon as they learned to be quiet, you couldn't keep the animals away from the kids either. The animals were as fascinated with kids as the kids were boggled by the animals.

My Uncle also has a couple of Emus. That was fun explaining to the kids what that was! All the new words were a little confusing. I am just trying to imagine the kids trying to tell the parents what they saw! I bet that was a hilarious conversation!

This is fabulous! I would have LOVED something like this when I was teaching preschool. What a fun learning experience for the kids (and their parents, too, maybe?).
