Christmas 2013

Christmas this year didn't seem as commercial as in years past (which was nice). We had so little time in December that we didn't get our tree up before it got buried in the snow. Thankfully, the kids donated one of their trees so that we didn't go without entirely;) Loreli did all of the decorating too. It seems that the older our kids get, the more expensive their gifts get, so it seems the less they get. This year the kids all got tablets. No internet, or games, just reading apps. They have the LDS Gospel library, NOOK, and Kindle Apps. On average they each had 30 to 40 books preloaded. Pretty sweet, huh!

The kids also got rubber band looms from us for making the rubber band bracelets that are so popular right now.
Even Remy got a present; a whole bag of dog treats.
Their uncle Mitch sent them a couple of new games, Banagrams and Apples to Apples.
Uncle Alex and aunt Emilie sent them Amazon gift cards so that they could pick out new books to load onto their tablets. Aunt Jill sent them gifts too (not pictured). Loreli got a drawing book, Carter a doodle robot, and James a kit of stuff that flies. They love it all!
Grandpa Roly sent a box to us from Boeing. The boys got new pocket tools.
Loreli got a flight jacket and pink airplane slippers.
Carter got a new hoodie, red of course.
James got a new telescope. Scott and I also got really nice jackets.
Grandma Andrea sent the kids a huge box of art supplies that she had collected throughout the year (genius!).
Loreli promptly emptied the entire box to see what she wanted to do first.
One of the projects to do is survival bracelets out of paracord. Pretty awesome stuff!

The kids also got presents at Grandma and Grandpa Shupe's house. They each got a new TV blanket, a new outfit, and a toy.

Doesn't Natalie have the prettiest smile! She is so cute and just turned 16. Watch out boys!
Loreli reminded us several times throughout the day that the most important reason we celebrate Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
She also said that we need to make our family the most important thing too! I love that kid. It's nice to know that she knows what's really important.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!
